The Compatible Discount Inkjet Printer Cartridge

One type of discount inkjet printer cartridge is the compatible. It is a newly manufactured cartridge – not a refurbished one – that is made to be compatible with the printer, and replace the more expensive original manufacturer's cartridges.

While many OEM cartridges are for single use only, the compatibles are often designed to be refillable. These compatibles are produced and tested under the same ISO standards as the cartridges from the brand manufacturers.

For some printers, compatibles are not available, as manufacture of similar ink cartridges is restricted under patent laws. However, in the next post, we'll look at another type of discount inkjet printer cartridge.
